Terminal Thursday: Sleep
The week flies by and we’re back to Thursday and another Terminal screencast. This time: How to send your Mac off to sleep with the Terminal.
On the Macbook Pro sometimes Murphy hits the power button and then just hits s for sleep. And sometimes he holds Command+Option and taps the Eject key. But with the Terminal window perpetually parked on the left side of the screen, sometimes it’s easier to just type sl and hit return. This won’t sleep your Mac - not yet - but if you watch the screencast you’ll see how to make it work for you.
This screencast from December covered two other things we’ll be doing today, making an alias and using the cat command. Watch it if you want to review.
We’ve looked at a couple other sleep topics. Click one of the links below to revisit:

Sorry Miky -
Trade secret. Murphy’s only competitive advantage.
If it makes you feel better it’s expensive, awkward, and time consuming.
Thanks for visiting Murphy Mac.
