Murphy Mac

It’s true. Murphy has released a hundred screencasts into the wild. The audience has grown steadily, the Google rankings have climbed, we even made it to the Digg front page.

Sleep You Mac by Email holds the title for most popular post. Thanks to the Tim Margh blog for that one. How to make a Customized DMG Container put Murphy on the map and has been a steady draw ever since. Other big traffic posts include Chicken of the VNC and Add HTML to iWeb Pages. Contain your Desktop Clutter got slammed in the TUAW comments. Maybe Murphy’s picture was ugly, but he still thinks the idea is solid.

Murphy has some favorite posts too. Like this one that didn’t get much notice. It’s currently being reworked. And the DMG background post is being reworked too.

Murphy Mac featured a couple of theme weeks including RSS, iTunes, and Networking. On the weekends we’ve thrown up some tips without screencasts, like Backing Up Your Mini-DV tapes. Murphy is working on some similar features and maybe we’ll even get some guest posters on board in the not-too-distant future.

Along the way we’ve been helped by the big time sites like TUAW, Ars Technica, LifeHacker, MacPlus, and just about every Mac site in Germany! Watching the hits come in from all over the globe has been fun. And through comment-links Murphy has found dozens of blogs he might have never known about.
