Alias App Launcher
December 15th, 2006
The best way to get more familiar with the Terminal is to leave it open and figure out how to do stuff with it. A good start is using it to launch applications. If you’re one of those people who likes keyboard shortcuts you might like this Snippet. Murphy will show you how Terminal can launch apps with a single letter.
Murphy will also introduce the cat command, short for concatenate. It’s a quick and efficient way to add content to text files.
Remember, the Terminal is dangerous. If you haven’t watched it already, watch this warning Snippet. Or watch it again. Then watch the screencast and start launching apps!
